Only the Ocean

After all this time

After all of these season

After your own decision to go to the water for a reason

It's only the ocean and you

And all of this lines

Will all be erased soon

They go out with the tide

And come back with the waves

It's only the ocean and you

You don't want

You don't wait

You don't love but you don't hate

You just roll over me

And you pull me in

And this work is done

And this cold is dry

When this world's too much

It will be only the ocean and me

When these sails go up

Mountains fade away

Stars come back

I'm finally free

It's only the ocean and me

You don't want

You don't wait

You don't love but you don't hate

You just roll over me

And you pull me in

And you pull me in

You don't want

You don't wait

You don't love but you don't hate

You just roll right over me

And you pull me in

And you pull me in...

You just roll over me

And you pull me in

'Only the Ocean' ~Jack Johnson~

It may seem strange that someone from the prairies can feel at home at the ocean, maybe it's the vast horizons and huge sky with nothing in between that makes the ocean feel like home. I've not been on many large bodies of water, but enough to know that it does draw me in. The air is different though.....on the water it's moist and refreshing, in the prairies it's dry. In the heat of the summer it feels like the wind can suck all the life out of everything, leaving the land parched. In the winter the dry air is frigid, taking a deep breath feels like your lungs have shrunk to nothing and your nostrils have frozen closed. It can be a harsh climate, and it seems like it's ever changing, of course until a high pressure system sits over us for a month at a time and we have -40°C for days on end....and in the summer it's +40°C for eternity, and either way we're left wondering wtf! I know if I lived on the coast I'd feel at home, I'd roam the coastline and stare out into nothing and feel completely at home, but what I can't take is the cloud in the winter. I need the sun no matter the season and the days and days of cloud and rain would drive me to drink. But then again, this long stretch of cold has got me wanting to escape......I don't drink so that's not going to happen.......but maybe endless bowls of popcorn and all the classic movies I can stand. That'll get me through!

I'm at the gorgeous Chesapeake Bay for this photograph. I'm out wading in the water, with the sound of the gulls and the water lapping at the shore. A little piece of heaven right here in Second Life.

I'm wearing the 'Wet Dress' from Gabriel and the hair is 'G1224' from tram.

This is a pose from the 'A Bit Shy' set of poses from .MILA..
