1994/1995 Flatland BBS Menu Screen

    Newer Older

I used to dial in to Flatland BBS from late 1994 to early 1996. It was my first access to the Internet. You can see (bottom center) that I was dialing in at the blazing speed of 2400 baud, good times. You can tell it was 1994/1995, when is the last time you saw Archie or Gopher services being offered by your Internet provider? :)

While scanning some old files and documents I ran across some printouts of old menu screens from a couple of dial-up Isp's I was using many years ago.. So I decided to scan them, invert the colors so it looks like it did on the screen of my old Compaq 386 20mhz laptop (running MS DOS), and post 'em here for nostalgia sake. :)

I also connected via a terminal program running on my Mac SE/30 for a while too.

You really are a g33k, Tim! I used to run a BBS - Sea of Green in area code 6i9. WWIV v 4.24a heavily modded. I'll have to post some screenshots soon.

Holy cow. I used to log on to Flatland all the time in '93 as user Recon. Flatland and ComKey were my two favorite boards!
