Sand Lizard (Lacerta agilis) Sefton Coast

A small population of the rare Sand Lizard occurs in sand dunes on the Sefton Coast between Crosby and Southport. This is a male showing his green colouration (which is a remarkably different green from the Dorset population). It is quite difficult to get an unobscured view as they usually bask under overhanging Marram Grass.
