Carrying off the loot

Deltoid balsamoot is a nationally endangered species in Canada. Only 2 populations of any real size are left. Both are on Vancouver Island, and both have been seriously degraded by residential development in the past 2 years. This magnificent species occurs in Garry oak woodlands which are themselves "critically imperilled" with only about 5% remaining.
