Beautiful Maori girl (found photo)

Isn't she beautiful? I mean, wow.

She's wearing a Kahu kiwi (a cloak of kiwi feathers), which apparently is a mark of aristocracy.

She reminds me a little of that famous photo of Anne Frank.

Bobster -- I know exaclty what you mean. I hadn't noticed it before...

Yeah, I thought that was the one you meant.

Anne Frank was so beautiful and so talented. No words can describe the awfulness of what happened to her and the six million like her.

Found in the Maori Art and Society pool.
      What a beautiful photo!
What do you mean by found photo? Where did you see it/find it?

    14. Time and Hour 51 months ago | reply

Daniel Huot - thanks for your comment!

Lunchboxo -- I'm related to Sir Raymond Firth, and the photo comes down from that side. His son had a copy of the photo (not the original), and for some reason he lent it to my father (who scanned it into our computer).
That's going back a good a few years, and I'm afraid I can't remember the ins-and-outs of the situation, nor do I remember any more about the photo or where it is now.
Sorry I can't be of more help. :)

Thanks for the info. What a stunning photo, wouldn't want it to get lost in history, glad it's in the right hands. The carvings in the background are also amazing, I wish more photos like this were being added to the internet world.
