2016 - Mexico - Pachuca - Painted Ladies
On the streets of Pachuca.
The Painted Ladies:
In an unprecedented effort, a German Crew and the government of Mexico joined forces to rehabilitate and beautify the district of Palmitas in Pachuca.
This project englobes 20 thousand square meters of painted surfaces over 209 houses which directly benefited 452 families and 1808 people!
The design was led by Mibe, a Mexico City-based street artist, and the piece took two and a half months to complete in 2015.
On top of beautifying the neighbourhood, the project has been a tool of social transformation during the process as the area violence amongst younger people was largely eradicated and several jobs created.
