Fontaine Moussue (Mossy Fountain)

In a fountain, "cannon" is the part of the pipe projecting the water, spout.

"At the end of Rue du 4 septembre on Cours Mirabeau, this hot water fountain (fontaine d’eau chaude) was built in 1668 and is the only one to be still fed by the thermal springs of the Bagniers. Water in this fountain is about 18°C (64°F).

No one can be certain today how the fountain was decorated. Only the moss-covered stone is visible inside the basin. This unique vegetation has built up over decades, like the present symbolically hiding the past with its charm and delicacy."
