"I did want to live in a palace, honey, but are you sure this was a smart buy?"
The figures are part of a monumental Mannerist fountain in Piazza Pretoria. It was built in Florence in 1554, but transferred to Palermo in 1574.
The decaying palace is Palazzo Guggino Bordonaro (circa 16C). The facade, including the elegant portal with columns and a semi-circular tympanum, was rebuilt in the 18C.
Restoration of the palazzo was begun in the 1990s, then interrupted and still not completed.
