Not a good day for drying your laundry
Signs of life in a courtyard of a town that looked almost uninhabited when we walked through other streets.
Erice is a medieval walled town perched on top of Mt. San Giuliano. The locals call their town 'u Munti, the mountain.
It is often shrouded in mist, known as il velo di Venere (the veil of Venus). That day was very foggy and drizzle had just stopped, so it would take a long time for the laundry to dry.
The greyish stone houses date mostly from the 14th-17th centuries.
