Progressive Grocery, Seattle, 1937

This building at the northeast corner of Broadway and Thomas in Seattle is now Julia's at 300 Broadway East. I'm not clear exactly what it was in 1937. Progressive Grocery run by the Imayanagita family was here until 1936. Perhaps they were still here in early 1937. In 1938 the Checkerboard Cafe opened.

This photo is on the King County assessor's property card for parcel 600350-2080, held at the Washington State Puget Sound Regional Archives.

I talked about the building and used this in a rephotograph for an article on CHS, The Julias building, past to present .
