Night Sky over Big Cypress National Preserve

Taken at the parking lot of the Kirby Storter Roadside Park on 12/15/2012. Unfortunately the cloud cover prevented us from enjoying the true dark skies of this prime location for amateur astronomers in South Florida.

Jupiter is the brightest object. Orion constellion is evident as well, the 3 bright stars of Orion's belt are visible (near middle of photo).

The bottom of the image is just me. During the 20-sec exposure I rellocated twice and was "painted" by a red light of a fellow member of our astronomy club.
