Empty Glass

    Newer Older

Here we are in a fantastic villa on the east cost of Spain. The sun is shining, a warm wind is blowing, dinner is served on the patio, I can hear the gentle hum of a golf buggy driving by and a glass of sparkling rose is being poured in front of me. What more could I want? Well a drink would be good.

Taken with the Nikkor 35mm focusing on the wine glass, very shallow DoF. I love the colours. What do you think of the edit? To much colour, too sharp, too much contrast? Your comments are appreciated.

Edited with Camera Raw - exposure, clarity, cropped. Final edit using Photoshop and Topaz - Just a very simple exposure adjustment.

Ok, you asked for it. )
IMHO, the picture is too busy. Too many things in the picture. For instance, she should go.

I do like the empty glass waiting to be filled with the slightly out of focus wine-is-on-its-way.

as Phil says. I think without the girl my eyes wouldn't be so distracted and would naturally filter from the glass to the wine being poured. Nice colours though :-)

I like it! Very vibrant colours, maybe a bit busy, but I like it as a more candid shot, it lives!

Thanks for he comments - I really do appreciate it.

I'll try the shot again later this afternoon when the sun has moved around the building. I'll recreate the shot but lose the other person, plates and cutlery. Basically two glasses, a bottle and an arm.
