Here is another perspective of the New Year’s fireworks in Seattle, as seen from the International District immediately south of downtown, virtually located on the opposite end from the Space Needle.
I have been asked about my choice of location for this year’s fireworks. After living in Seattle for almost five years, a few of you know that I try, in earnest, to find a different perspective of the city that one might not think of right away. It’s this particular challenge of photography that invigorates my creativity everyday. This year, the concept came to mind of what a commuter or pedestrian might see if he or she were crossing through the city streets and suddenly witness its greatest landmark bursting with illumination. I was incredibly happy that the photographs matched the vision I had preconceived days before the celebration.
I like how this image came out given the bright trails of the fireworks, so I thought I would share it with you as well. Not quite sure if I prefer this one or the previous image. They each have elements that I like individually.
