This rally was specifically to protest the ongoing politically motivated killings of activists in the Philippines. As of Aug 21, more than 768 men and women activists have been killed by paramilitary forces operating under the orders of the Phiippine military; this has all been under the leadership of puppet president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (GMA).
