Vizcaya Bridge

From Bilbao you can catch the metro to the neighbouring town of Portugalete. Today it’s the seaport of Bilbao, and where the Nervión River mouths into the Atlantic Ocean (the Abra bay) you find the Vizcaya Bridge. It’s a so called transporter bridge where a small platform or gondola suspended form the bridge lifts cars and pedestrians across. Today it’s a declared UNESCO World Heritage Site.
