Etna - a bit like pahoehoe lava

The typical lava flows at Etna are aa-lava flows. So I was excited to see this a bit looking like a pahoehoe or rope lava flow (which can also be found on the north side of this volcano). While the hot inner part of lava is still flowing rapidly the upper part is cooling down faster and solidifies. The moving inner part folds the crust creating the rope like structures. Pahoehoe lava flows also create lava tubes which can be also found on Etna (there are about 200 volcanic caves!).
