Stromboli Eruption

    Newer Older

Another picture from Stromboli 2006. Right now there is one vent which has very loud and high eruptions. The lava fountains rise approximately 300 m. On the right part of the picture you can see the start of the sciara del fuoco where the glowing rocks are sliding down towards the sea (800 m below)...

Wow. Just, wow. Some day... some day I would love to get an opportunity to photograph an active volcano. Nice job.

Incredible Shot! I can't imagine seeing that live. I love the hint of cloud against the dark background.

I am glad that such a talented photographer as yourself was present at that spectacular moment. Stromboli is truly a sight to behold. Rest in peace, Thomas Reichart, and thank you for blessing our lives with these works of art.

Amazing. This is the best experience I've ever made even though our eruptions weren't that extreme.
