Eggs from two different chickens

The eggs in the top row were laid by Sophia, the bottom row from ZsuZsu. Each of their first eggs are on the left side of the carton in their respective rows. Z's eggs seems to be rounder and paler than Sophia's.

How is the taste? I've heard fresh eggs are much much better. Opinions? Worth the trouble of raising chickens? I've been thinking about it myself...

The taste is incredible, Todd. TOTALLY worth raising them yourself. Takes but five minutes a day and 20 minutes a week to tend the flock, and you've got yummy fresh eggs consistently. Do it! (read more about my chicken adventures over on urbanchickens.net)

    Great blog!

I'm totally going to do that at my next house. My landlord right now isn't very happy with me, I dug a reasonably large turtle pond in the backyard without asking first... so chickens might send him over the edge...
