Officer of the Month

Using the Public Act 72 of 1990, in December of 2000 Michigan Governor John Engler appointed an emergency financial manager to take over the city of Highland Park. As part of this takeover the city's police department was shut down. This is the former building where the Highland Park Police Department which was disbanded resided.

In 2009 the city was returned to local control and the new police department opperated near by out of a strip mall.
