he who shall, Jeffrey-Anthony, and 15 other people added this photo to their favorites.

I take it you were using a polarizer? It's so clear that it looks like you took this shot from inside the store :)

was outside on the sidewalk and the door to the store was open. I was shooting the mannequins from the sidewalk through the open door.

Where do people get the idea that they can stop people from taking photos in public places? It really burns me up that there is this general belief that it is a fact.

I carry a copy of the photographer's rights in my camera bag for these occasions. But, it is FAR too frequent.

    I recently had this altercation...

I honestly don't get this whole thing, what are they trying to protect? It's all out there anyway. I was chased out of a couple of stores in Paris for basically the same thing. If it were to copy a design, you can find it in a catalog, magazine, online. If its to copy their chic display you can pass buy at night with a camera. Whatever.

The Prada dude is a schmuck, but it's probably his job. I've been threatened with arrest for attempting to shoot a 1930's Works Project Administration mural in a Post Office, it's a security violation(?). I was unsuccessfully chased from shooting a film crew setup in Venice Beach, a public outdoor location. Unless you are facing real, uniformed police, and are not on private property, shoot just to cheese them off! If Big, and little, Brother can watch us, we can watch them.

Guys who do that are personally insecure and need to claim power to make them feel more important. You need to pity them.
