SPINE, SAN FRANCISCO, CA: Spine is lighting sculpture in the Ellis O'Farrell parking garage in Union Square designed and installed by artist Christopher Sproat in 1993. The lighting runs 275 feet for the entire length of a walkway connecting Ellis and O'Farrell Streets through the garage. The installation runs through the ground floor middle of the building and down a staircase. Most people probably walk under this light sculpture every day never knowing that so much thought went into it. Check it out if you're ever downtown at Union Square.
