Crowds assembled to celebrate the death of Osama bin Laden. While I feel that the killing of Osama bin Laden was justified, what irks me is the seeming party that formed in response. It was more a beer/pot-fueled GW frat party than anything else; as if people only needed the motive to inebriate themselves and that motive was to celebrate someone's death.

We need to remember that at best: this is not a celebration of peace; this is a celebration of revenge... yeah, even I felt good, and for that I am every bit as much a monster as those we call our enemies. It is an emotion of relief rather than joy.

However, there is a long path ahead of us that is about to become even more difficult. We now have no target which the public supports, but our decade of wars has left us with many who would target us. This is but the earliest steps of what will continue to be a very long war.
