Wingtip felt baby booties 4

I have been trying to challenge myself for some time now with these baby booties and attempting to figure out a really cute pattern for the boys as well as the girls. Typically all of the booties I do see for the boys are in the traditional 'boy-like' styles..like baseballs..footballs..soccer..fire trucks etc..Which are adorable but longed for something different..Similar to the idea of the Penelope birdie for the girls..not the traditional expected girl design..So, I was browsing through the net one day and for some reason an image of a pair of Wingtip shoes came up..and it hit me!

How cute a pair of felt Wingtip baby booties would be!!! I decided my first pair of these would be bold..as bold as I could make them while staying within a certain class of style..So..this pair was born..They have every detail one would see in a pair of Wingtips..the signature point and two sided swoop around the front of the shoe and the matching half circle heel shape in the back..One more detail to complete the look were the addition of many many tiny white french knots..around the top perimeter of the toe and the heel to mimic the perforated look in a real pair.. The french knots were no fun at all and I am trying to think up a different method to achieving this look without having to take all of that time creating these..and to be honest..these knots are never perfect and very hard for me to duplicate the look from one to the next..but I guess part of the beauty of handmade too..all the little imperfections..

This pair was a blast to create from beginning thoughts to the end details..and I will make more..this is a mediums sized pair meant to fit approx. 6-12mos but all the finer details are on the listing page in the shop..check my profile for the links..
