Rebel North Star
This photo is a 23-minute fisheye exposure looking directly at the rebel North Star (Polaris) which, unlike it's celestial comrades, refuses to testify to the Earth's rotation.
On the evening of 8/25/2008, I drove to the booming metropolis of Gilead, Indiana to meet a Flickr friend I made several months ago, Michael Sarver (flickr | blog). He and his wife are good people, and he's one heck of a talented photographer.
We had an awesome conversation about everything imaginable (and then some), after which we stood out in the yard for a good hour shooting photos of the stunning night sky.
