    It has always been my understanding that shooting upwards is a good thing. Framing the fish against a blue background is to be desired. What is bad is shooting downwards (looking down on the fish), which hardly ever turns out well.

    I could have sworn I read something about not shooting from below. I think it might have been in the PADI Underwater Photography course. I could be wrong. Most likely. haha
