#48/365 - I think it might be time to mow the lawns!
What makes me passionate are the simple everyday things in life, stopping to SEE beauty around us rather than waiting for the "big events" (places or scenes that are common and over-shot). Photography has created a desire in me to "stop and smell the roses" (or in this case Dandelions). I seek to be 'involved' in the world around me as a participant rather than just an observer. Over the course of this year I have pretty much exclusively used my 50mm lens and this has challenged me to get into a position to make things happen... Engaging with common things and finding a way to make them beautiful is the challenge - and one that I think has paid off in this shot. We see a million roses, a billion orchids and countless daffodils in the photographic world, but finding a way to make a boring old dandelion an interesting subject is what brings challenge to my passion for photography.
