A very rare candid movie still of Steve McQueen & Paul Newman in a scene from Somebody Up There Likes Me (1956).
On the back is a printed description:
Paul Newman, at right, Rocky Graziano, argues with a youthful gang confederate (Steve McQueen) atop a tenement roof in a scene filmed on New York's lower East Side for "Somebody Up There Likes Me"
As you have probably guessed this is not an original photo by myself. It came from a large personal collection of shots collected by famous Cinematographer Joseph Ruttenberg, which I acquired from his wife a few years back. This guy won 4 Oscars and was nominated for another 6, including Somebody Up There Likes Me!
