Her expression is just so authentic - love this portrait - my favorite too - and so happy for both her and Marina.

@Mireyal - thanks for the information - this is just so great that you did so - I wish more people would comment on the sitters they saw. Then again not all were so "interesting".

mt11231, you get a grip. How dull it must be in your grim little world.

Molly, I like your pink tiara, i think I'll go get myself a tiara and then I'll walk around and I'll show my tiara and then I'll throw a tiara partay for my friends, and then we'll cry all together holding hands because we love our tiaras so much and life is just so beautiful, we wouldn't stop crying, like having the sun shinning in our eyes...Amen

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called This is Excellent ( "New Photo" Contest), and we'd love to have this added to the group!

Note: Evan Rose, who was there, noted how Marina reacted, and that this prompted *him* to decide and sit himself. Also on the last day, may 31st. Marina acknowledges her sitter's also very emotional state. I don't know of other such moments, tho there must have been some. Caught it on livecam there (scroll down)

Andre's right. I was there when this woman was sitting and was so cynical about the whole thing but when she got up, she and Marina were both crying which moved me so much that I decided I had to sit too. And so I did (but on the 26th, not the 31st [though I was there that day too]).

As it so, SO randomly turns out, this woman and I have a friend in common and I saw her again just this past Friday night (but was sorry I wasn't able to introduce myself).

its intriguing that she was cynical
yet able to be patient enough to wait in line
its great that they had such an interaction
all my friends who were even slightly critical of the piece barely made it out to the exhibit at all, so happy for this woman to have experienced it despite cynicism
