    i recently wrote a Gimp script for converting panoramic images into semicircles in such as way that the distortion is minimized (compared for instance to the distortion seen in two roads in a wood diverged). the idea is to fit the image into a more compact space.

      i definitely say distortion is minimized. what will you use the semicircle for?

      Oooooh, I like that! I've never used Gimp, though. This would be fun for the Sandias....

      Gimp is great. The scripts that also can be downloaded and implemented are worth the time getting to know the program. You use it nicely! Great shot(s).
