“The ART therapy tube saved my life – without it my children would have been alone”
I found out I was HIV positive in 2011. I had suspected it ever since my second child was born and tested positive, but fear and ignorance stopped me from taking the test. Unfortunately, I passed the virus on to my children.
The antiretroviral therapy (ART) tube saved my life – without it my children would have been alone. Since I started the treatment, I feel better. I have understood the importance of screening and following the therapies.
I now work with peer education activities to convince people to get tested and start ART. Many people try to deny that they’re positive. This fear can cost them their lives. I would have lost mine if the hospital had not tested me and convinced me to follow the therapy.
