Your Art at the Getty Center
The Getty Museum is one museum at two locations. The Getty Center in Los Angeles presents the Getty's collection of Western art from the Middle Ages to the present against a backdrop of dramatic architecture, tranquil gardens, and breathtaking views.

The Sketching Gallery is a unique space in the Museum where you can participate in the tradition of sketching from works of art. Like a classical European art academy, the Sketching Gallery is filled with works of art for artists of all levels—from casual visitors to advanced practitioners—to study and copy. You can pick up free sketching paper, drawing pencils, charcoal, and art sticks from the friendly docent and then choose a painting or sculpture to sketch.

Visitors and their creative interpretations of the art are documented in photographs by Getty Museum Docents. Learn more about the Sketching Gallery.
