View on black please!

I'm a big fan of photographing Brompton Oratory. Having taken a shot of the interior, I wanted to get one of the exterior. Sadly it's pretty hard to get a good shot, as it's completely surrounded by buildings and trees. I happened to be walking past on the way past after dinner (which was rubbish) when I saw this fantastic sky behind the cupola. I set up my tripod and had to wait for all the buses to go past.

Brompton Oratory is a Catholic church in Kensington and is actually called The Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It is in the museum district, right beside the Victoria and Albert museum and a few hundred metres down the road from Harrods. Evidently an oratory is, "a structure other than a parish church, set aside by ecclesiastical authority for prayer and the celebration of Mass." There are two other oratories in the UK, Birmingham and Oxford.

As per usual, this photo looks much nice larger on black. (Press L)

I'm off to Paris shortly, so I shall not be online. I'll try and catch up when I'm back.
