I've posted some night desert shots before, as well as some sunrise shots, but this is my first sunrise in the desert shot. This was south of a town called Zagora in the very south of Morocco. It is the end of the Atlas Mountains and the beginning of the Sahara Desert.
It was surprisingly cloudy in the desert and the sun seemed to rise pretty damn quick. I was amazed to see such magnificent rays in this location. It only happened for a few minutes, so I had to be quick to get them. I love the layers of mountains in the background and the almost misty feel they have to them. I kept the lone figure in to give you a sense of scale. Certain makes a change form photographing London.
I think this will be another love it or hate it photo. I didn't really like this at first and nearly didn't post it, but the more I looked, the more it grew on me, so give it a minute or two. As usual, this looks better in the lightbox. (Press L)
