View on black please!

One from my city photowalk with Adam Cohen and almost the same spot where I took my photo of The Gherkin. Again, like most of my City shots, this has the deep red sky that seems to cover the Bishopsgate area during the evening. Still not too sure why... At least it makes a change from the nice blue sky over other parts of London.

Actually, I'd really like to know why the sky in this area is red. I'm assuming it's light pollution, but it doesn't seem to happen in other parts of London, or at least not to this extent. Is it to do with the large amount of skyscrapers in this area? The type of lights used? I've read that sodium lights can cause a different type of pollution. Let me know!

Also, if you think you know why I chose this particular title, let me know in the comments. Remember, there are no wrong answers. Just incorrect ones.

This photo really does come alive on black (press L), so please view it that way; it'll be a guaranteed fav if you do! (Wishful thinking).

No group graphics or large images in comments please.
