Roman Mosaics
These photos were taken on trips to Tunisia in 2009, Merida in 2010 and in the little museum in Nimes. I concentrated a lot on the details of the mosaics rather than their totality. I was fascinated by the diversity of, particularly, the birds, fish and other animals portrayed. If only the artist's notebooks had survived. They were obviously good field naturalists and took a close interest in observing wildlife. That said there is such a richness there; mythology, geometric patterns etc. it would be hard not to find something there to delight you.
