Traveling Red Dress

    Newer Older

Thanks to orders from my store (www.zazzle.com/thebloggess*) and a sweet donation from my friend Ursula, I was able to buy both of these for the travelingreddress collection tonight. When they come in (6 weeks) I'll send out a tweet. If you want to leave a comment about borrowing one (you'd be responsible for passing on to the next person) feel free. The one on the left is in bright red, size 14 and the one on the right will be bight red, size 12.

If you have a ball-gown to donate you can tweet it with the hashtag #travelingreddress and send it to whoever first asks for it, or you can post a picture here on this group (travelingreddress www.flickr.com/groups/1906970@N22/ ) and use the group to donate it to whoever needs it. Just join this group, upload your picture to your photo stream and then click on "actions" and "add to group". Make sure you add sizes and update when it's been reserved by someone. Then the next person passes it on.

    If you're confused, ask.

Ps. This was all inspired by this original movement: thebloggess.com/2010/05/the-traveling-red-dress/

I just have to say that I would absolutely love to feel like a princess for a day in the size 14 dress. It is just so beautiful!

      Jenny --

I'm turning 40 next week. I've been wallowing in my own depression over the milestone (shallow, I know, but real), as well as too much work, too much of other people's drama and not enough self-restoration in my life. I would love to participate... I have a photographer friend who could take some amazing pictures if you would let me borrow the size 14 and show everyone (myself included) how fabulous forty really is.

Pretty please? I'd be happy to donate towards the costs.

I'd even wear it for my husband on our fifteenth anniversary this year. (Fifteen years is giant metal chicken, right?)

      Love,
      Michelle

My family has had a hard couple of years lately, and this dress(es) would be a calm moment of peace I would love to be apart of. The size 12 dress might fit me better.... I'll patiently wait and stand in line for a dress, before gleefully passing it along. I can be found on twitter @lucidbutterfly

I'd love to take part. I have a couple of pretty dresses I'd like to share (not real ball gowns, but nice and formal) . But I'm located in The Netherlands. Anybody in Europe I can help?!

Dress on the left please! (size 14). For all the things that have happened the past few years, I feel that I need a good day out to play and look fancy doing it. I live in SF and will gladly send this out to anyone else who needs to be reminded how fabulous we all are! Thank you so much Jenny for inspiring our inner fabulousness!

Hey char_evans - I live in the SF Bay Area and know someone who needs to wear the dress a little more than me and the 14 might fit her better. It's my mom.....

I would love, love, LOVE to borrow the size 14 dress - can you please add me to the waiting list? It's one of the most beautiful dresses I've ever seen, and I'd love to be able to have my picture taken in it (although I'd never do the dress justice).

Just checked the sizing chart on the site these came from - their sizes seem to run very small.

Flickr won't let me post the links, but the dress on the left is called Gorgeous Burgundy Straples Beading Taffeta Ball Gown and the one on the right is called Romantic White Rococo Ball Gown Strapless Flower Wrinkled Net Wedding Dress. You can go to milanoo dot com & search on them, then click on the links for their size charts.

That being said, I'd LOVE for the one on the left to come visit me in MA! I think photos of this dess in the Berkshire mountains and in Purgatory Chasm would be fabulous!

The one on the Left is so beautiful!!! I used to be a size 8-10. However, I had to go on a medication that caused me to gain weight. Where before I felt fat at 150 lbs, I am now a full figured woman at 180 lbs. I had curves before, and it was hard to dress. Finding dresses that look great these days are even more difficult. I'm curious how the left one would look on me. Can I be on a list to borrow that one?

I'm a lot like you. I love photography! I have a decent camera, and am now starting to get paid for some of the shoots I do. I know how you feel about confidence. I started to love photography, because if I was behind the camera, I wasn't in front of it. What area do you live in? I live near Pismo Beach in Central California. I would love to chat more with you. Feel free to e-mail me @ sandaphotography@gmail.com.

I don't have a dress to contribute, but what I can contribute is Photography. Its a passion of mine. I have a decent camera, and can show you work I've done in the past. If anyone gets a dress and wants to be photographed in it, and lives within an hour or two of Pismo Beach, California, let me know, and I would be honored to photograph you. Feel free to email me at: sandaphotography@gmail.com.

The dress on the left is GORGEOUS but a couple sizes too small for me. I will find my red dress, hopefully. :)

I NEED the one on right. I've been with my man for 7 years. We have 2 kids and mortgage and still have not married. We want to have a small wedding this year and I told him since it's not a real wedding, I wanted to wear red. That dress would be perfect. I can see my two year old crawling under it! I have two boys so if I got my own dress, there's no daughter to pass it down to. I love the idea of the dress I marry in going on to make women feel beautiful. Would be such a great legacy!

I don't think I've ever worn anything as freaking amazing as those dresses. I wish one of them was closer to my size. =/ But I bet they will look stunning on whoever wears them! Such an inspiring thing. I think I'll call up my mother and see if she has any of my prom dresses still. Maybe I can get her to post some pics and see if anyone would wants one.
