a jain sumbol of good luck, later corrupted

The swastika is an ancient hindu, jain and buddhist symbol of good luck, with usage dating back to the Indus Valley civilization of around 2000BC. From here it travelled to parts of Europe and was also independently created in North America.

Modified and used by the Nationalist Socialist party in Germany, it has since then been associated with racism and the holoucast in the western world.
