For Students, By Students: How to Build the High School Survival Kit:
Sierra Reading is the fashion design instructor at Youth Art Exchange in San Francisco. Within her four years teaching at YAX, she has designed and built the fashion program from the ground up. She received her BFA from the California College of the Arts in textiles and is currently working toward her MA in Art Education through the Maryland Institute College of Art. Her work focuses on traditional textile processes that create scenarios in which participants connect to materials as a way to connect with one another.

Seven arts educators each gave a 7 minute presentation about their practice using just 14 slides.
The event was produced with support from Leap and hosted by the Museum of African Diaspora.
