Post Office View
This is another angle in the ghost town of Bents, Saskatchewan.
This building is two stories high and this was photographed from the second floor of the post office.
This image (like the previous one) were photographed on my Nikon D90 at the time. Almost 10 years have passed since this image was made.
With new editing programs and techniques, I produced this HDR image.
THE NIKON D90 HAD A 12MP SENSOR. Yes 12mp.
Using photoshop for editing and Topaz denoise and Topaz Gigapixel I was able to tweak that 12mp image into an image that is 4 times the size and able to print to a size of 50" X 37".
My new rule of thumb: don't delete any old pictures!
Topaz Gigapixel was updated and the results are remarkable now. Even with an image going through Topaz Denoise first, Gigapixel deals with tiny jagged pixels and smooths them out in a good way by still retaining contrast at the pixel level. I am so impressed.
If you are a pixel peeper then you should have a look at this.
As for my next experiment it may be possible just to go straight into Gigapixel to see if that alone can deal with the noise/sharpness and enlargement all in one program. Essentially bypassing Topaz Denoise (which by the way is amazing too).
