The Sunshine City
An interesting historic-themed sculpture outside a museum at the base of The Pier on St. Petersburg's waterfront. The headline reads "The Independent Free Every Day The Sun Does Not Shine".
The green bench is an tribute to the city's early history as a winter tourist mecca when benches just like it lined the city strees for winter visitors on vacation to enjoy the weather. Instead of "The Sunshine City", St. Petersburg was known as "The City of Green Benches" back then.
