It looks really scary. I hardly recognized this place.

According to Bureau of Meteorology the highest recorded flood occurred in January 1918 and reached 10.11 metres on the Rockhampton gauge. Looks like it's close to the record.

Mmm, I'm due to fly into MacKay next week, but I won't be holding my breath. A great capture here Tatiana, it captures the impact of flood on the town.

My prayers and hopes for a speedy recovery for everyone in the floods and may they get financial and other help from us here in Oz and from overseas.

This is not surprising. All of your pictures are excellent :)
And, of course, we are waiting more pictures from jet by Capt. W.M.

... and also in French wikipedia (thanks, berichard1946 )

Lodo27 - unfortunately these photos are not as good, as the captain is normally busy with flying instruments, not taking photos :) The photos in newspapers are much better. But it seems the flood gets a lot iof interest in the world, (this shot has over 1100 views) so I load more.

Also I hope it will make people to donate. Over 200'000 people affected and thousands of homes inundated (flooded).

    - indeed, the great photos there. I think my favourite is the man in the boat with kangaroos. I will repeat the link, as yours above might be broken: australian_flooding
Interesting to read the comment there as well.

I lived in Rockhampton during the flooding. I'm from Sweden actually. But it was surreal to experience this!
