Tawny Frogmouth

    Newer Older

A strange large night hunter bird with a very broad bill, large yellow eyes and small, weak feet.. Oftern mistaken for owls, frogmouths are the birds of another family - Podargidae.

It was disturbed by other birds, nesting around, so we were lucky to find this sitting bird adopting 'dead wood' posture.

    Mt. Coot-tha , Brisbane, Australia
