Aplomado Falcons at Mustang Island State Park

Researchers are restoring endangered Aplomado Falcons at Mustang Island State Park. The images show falcon chicks, the nest, and chicks getting leg bands on June 1, 2019.

The final image is of a controlled burn done before the restoration to improve the habitat that these birds need to help them reproduce and survive enough reach a stable population.
