Parole certificate for George F. Simons of K Company in the 2nd Texas Infantry Regiment, 1865

During the Civil War George F. Simons served in the Confederate army Company K, 2nd Texas Infantry Regiment, and participated in the Battle of Shiloh. He received a parole in 1865. Simons' father-in-law, Francis Fourney Wells, was one of Stephen F. Austin's Old 300.
