Crowds linger at the crash site of the two locomotives. Waco photo journalist Deane lost an eye after he was struck by flying debris. While some of the spectators were concerned with the welfare of others, many swarmed the crash site for a souvenir in commemoration of one of Texas’ most disastrous publicity stunts.
