‘SEVEN’ Skateboard, silent auction to support

Colin Kaepernick’s KNOW YOUR RIGHTS CAMP

"Influenced by the work of the "Black Lives Matter" Movement in the wake of the vicious killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis in May of 2020. Attending as many of the recent, local protests in the downtown Colorado Springs area against the 400 years of brutal violence against African-Americans by the institutional Police State,

I was brought to an indescribable, overwhelming state of emotion that took me down to my knees.

Seeing so many people, young and old coming together to highlight the apex of frustration of not only Police violence against black & brown citizens was unlike any other protest I'd participated in before. This also highlighted the suppression of the most vulnerable and marginalized in our country & the fight against the scourge of white-supremacy.

As a single individual, I’ve felt so hopeless in light of this powerful moment in history. As a struggling designer , I can only do so much. But what i can do is continue to work with what i know best; creating unique pieces within the medium that has brought me some small renown in the comic-book and animation industry : the skateboards.

Colin Kaepernic's activism, highlighted initially by his kneeling during the National Anthem as a form of silent protest during the 2016 San Francisco 49ers football season has made him an icon and Civil Rights leader in his own right.

This special deck is meant to honor his work, and through this silent auction via the good graces of "The Last Rights Art & Oddities" - I wish to donate 100% of the profits from the final sale of this deck to Kaepernic's "Know Your Rights Camp"

"Our mission is to advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization and the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of change leaders."

The money raised from the silent auction will go on to support the legal defense of arrested Protesters in the recent Peaceful Protests nationally with Black Lives Matter.

The deck : One-of-a kind, hand painted and repurposed, broken skateboard is approx.

8.5" x 17", acrylic with multimedia 3D flag element,

Ready to hang.

Skateboard does glow-in-the dark and under black-light with a special message.

We all draw inspiration from our childhoods, but Tokka’s landscape is a nostalgia junkyard nightmare that defies category and forces us to examine why we love our memories. "
