• Hate that blown out spot, I saw it on my LCD but couldn't determine the source on the tank. though now looking at the shape of it now I wonder if maybe it was my on camera flash. I had thrown a diffuser on it to try and stop it from reflecting, perhaps I was not as successful as I had hoped.
  • Next time I'll have to find a better background that has less texture!

L is for Lemon Lime

Newer Older

How about a splash of lemon lime? I've always wanted to try a shoot like this.

More shots to come later from this! And a blog about the setup and such.

sb600 - camera left 2ft above subject snooted to direct light into tank and onto subject
sb600 - 1ft behind tank to illuminate white background

Citrus was dropped into a fish tank that was lined in the back and bottom (outside) with white paper. Camera triggered via remote, all by hand. I only wish I had a sound trigger then I'd have had a keeper ratio better than 1:20, oh well.

Flashes triggered via Nikon CLS.

I like the concept of your "26 Things" set, great idea. This is a really great shot... did you have to use an underwater camera?

thanks! It only took ~120 shots to get probably about 10 I will be editing this weekend. This was one of my two favorites of both the lemon and lime.

haha! my kitchen was soaked after i did this, i splashed water EVERYWHERE! I ended up adding some soap to the floor and mopping while Lightroom was importing the photos!

26 things is a www.sh1ft.org/projects/ so it's not my idea, I'm just taking it on as a challenge! I'll be sure to send you a message when I get my blog up about my setup, it's actually a fish tank!
