Plywood Christmas Tree

Newer Older

Here is my "2008" Modern Christmas Tree Project ... ( finish early in 2009 )

For that project, you need :
1* a big plank (or 2 smalls) of plywood (recovery in my project),
2* a pot of white wood glazed paint (IKEA Behandla )
and a jigsaw, a hole saw on a drill .... AND a good idea!

The two wood panels are cut in a simplified form of tree with a Jigsaw
(according to your creativity and agility to draw ... using measurements on the panels or perform a "scale" drawing on a paper sheet before)
After that an line thickness of the panels is cut in half lengthwise of eatch tree : one in the upper part, the other in the lower
( the two panels are assembled by crossing )
With a hole saw on a drill, drill holes large enough to accommodate your christmas balls.
(if you do not have christmas balls ... check available sizes )
After that, drill a small hole above the big hole to hang the balls

Sand every edges of the cutouts and all holes in the panels ... to avoid injuring yourself afterwards with raw edges of the panels

And after ... decorate wood panels with the finish you want ...
you can leave it "as is", paint, varnish ... but the simpler the better ... all come from the color contrast with the balls ...

if you liked ... do not hesitate to comment ...
if you did not understand my explanation ... do not hesitate to ask ...
