Bacon Rice Krispie Treats

John Patterson's Famous Chocolate Bacon Rice Krispie Treats


1 - Package Thick Cut Bacon

1 - Package large Marshmallows

6 cups - Rice Krispies

3 Tbsp - Butter

1 - Package Dark Chocolate or Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

4-6 Tbsp - Cream (or half and half)

Caramels - melted - to taste


Prepare bacon first. Dice back into 1/2 inch pieces and cook to desired crispiness. Remove from heat and put on paper towel on a plate. In a large pan, melt butter then add the whole package of marshmallows. Once marshmallows are melted, add 3/4 of the bacon you just cooked to the marshmallow/butter mixture. Stir then remove from heat. Add the rice crispies and then fold until all the cereal is coated and your arm is tired. Press into a well greased pan (cooking spray works great) using wax paper that is sprayed as well. Top with the remaining bacon. In a small pan, met the chocolate chips along with the cream stirring often till melted. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Melt caramels in the microwave on low until melted. Drizzle melted caramel over the rice crispie treats. Then drizzle the chocolate ganache over the rice crispie treats. Refrigerate and then cut into squares.
