Poster session, conference, American Society of Human Genetics
This man rescued the Human Genome Project. I was honored to meet him, excited for the new stuff his poster was about, and amused by his very likable computer-geek personality, which is rarer in science than you might think, but now that I'm doing genetics I am seeing it more since so much of it is about moving bits around.
Don't have time to tell THIS story either. Google Jim Kent. It's a good one. Think he'd like a copy of this? He doesn't seem like the sort who'd be embarrassed about his bald spot.
Here's what he made. I use it every day, so this link, I know by heart.
